As promised to , here is a work in progress of how I paint faces and eyes. I think that pictures are explicit enough, but if you have some questions, feel free to ask !
This figure was painted for may latest diorama based on the Cowboy Bebop anime serie :
Hi Dead myth, I use a standard primer that I buy in a local supermarket... pretty the same as Tamiya or MrHobby but a lot less expansive ! It is this brand(in white or grey) => [link]
LOL ! thanks ! You're kidding my friend ! honnestly I think that mechas are harder to build, because you need to be even more methodical. I mean that with resin figures, except for the biggest one, you don't have so much parts !
I'm not kidding As mecha builder I prefer the parts to be alot. Painting more than 2 colours on a part is a total nightmare. For me its alot better to have many parts than doing masking Not to mention the shading to be accurate according where the light and shadows are... I would stick to mecha and gundam all the way
He He, I understand what you mean about masking ! I agree with you about different colors on the same parts ! If I remeber well, the longest masking I had to do was for this kit => [link] especially for the flowers on her sleeves, a real nightmare but in the final I'm pretty happy with the result ! And yep about shading you have to take care about the lights... I like both mecha and figures !

This is the kind of work and skill which turn me off from doing resin figures
