Gundam 1-24 RX-93 Hi-Nu Bust 2 by ogamitaicho Gundam 1-24 RX-93 Hi-Nu Bust 2 by ogamitaicho
Hi everyone !

The 1/24 scale is huge for this bust !
It was very surprised with all the details and the light system.
It's my first Gundam kit and I hope to be able to find a good full model of this RX-93 with a big scale too.
I kept the original color scheme that I found pretty good. The main difficulty was assembling the all the parts about 200 + the leds and all the electric system ! :) in the good order...

It is mainly airbrushed but I used small brushes for the details and panel lines. I used acrylics + lacquer paint.

It was a very long work with all the preparation, painting and assembling and I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed building it ! ;)

Thanks for watching.

Really nice job there, a lot of work  too! Getting those large decals on must have been tricky, they look great with the paint scheme.

I'm afraid I must insist that you make the Sazabi bust!   lol

Sazabi is my fave,  the bust is one of the most awesome things I have ever seen , make it now, right now!    :D

Thank you very much bro ! :D
Yep this kit was fun to work on. ^_^
Yeah the Sazabi bust is great too. It's still in the box ! ;p I just have checked the parts and remove the resin flash so far ! :D
I'm currently on a 1/400 Evangelion diorama with the 3 main Evas that should take me a lot of time ! (I have to model a part of Tokyo III) ! =P (Razz)

I got it since a long time, I would say I bought in 2008 and I painted it in 2009.

Are you interested in building this kit ?
It took me about 3 months to paint and assemble it.
You have to know that it is definitely not for beginner modelers.

Ah OK...

I was just asking myself because I didn't see any resin Gundam kits in your Deviant Art gallery or any modeling work... The building process is a little build more complicated than a Bandai Gunpla and have to be fully painted.

Considering of the amount of time/work/money invested in such models, it's something that most of the advanced resin kit modelers like to share most of the time...

Anyway, I hope that will find one and I can't tell you where you can find one. Maybe that you already have it but here is the link to the original maker of this bust => www.g-system-models.com/index+…

They don't sell the same products but the quality of their stuff is pretty the same... ;)
unfortunately, it seams that G-System models is not very active since last year now.. the last site update is : 2011-08-18... ^^; I hope that they will continue to create new models because I love their busts...

Sure that these kits are pricy but they really worth for... ^^; I was able to get some of them because I had the chance to win some E2046 contests so I had some cash coupon that I had spend for them ! :D Maybe that you may try to start with one kit that is not too expansive and purchase some bigger after... :D

As a hobbyist I've been looking into gundam busts. A) Where did you find this model kit (which look AWESOME btw), the site I've seen these things on is e2046.com and b) how hard was it to paint and wire all of this stuff up?

I have bought this RX-93 on E2046, it was a recast so Had several problem with the electronic circuit, leds were OK but the motors didn't worked properly... ^^; It wasn't especially hard but it took me about 3 free-time month to complete it ! :D
I bought another bust from them, because now they sell the official G-System models => [link] I hope that I will not have the same problems with this Sazabi bust. Just and advice, try to build the overall electronic circuit before painting and assembling, so you may avoid a lot of problems after ! ;)

Ah ok cool. Yeah, one my friends is gonna get me this sooner or later [link] It'll be interesting to see how this works with doing the painting myself. And are you talking about looking from something like this? [link]

These bust are pretty nice, the 1/35 scale is a little bit smaller than the 1/24 but tghe result may be great. It may be easier to paint/build because there are less parts.:)
The 1/48 RX-93-2 Hi-Nu, you show me is amazing, I have a friend that is currently working on it. The next Gundam I may build is the 1/60Gerbera Tetra from G-System. I purchased it 2 years ago and I hope that i will have the time to work on it this year, this model is really amazing, the scale is big like I like and the details are fantastics => [link]
My "grail kit" is from G-System too but unfortunately a lot too expansive ! => [link] (Look at the specs, it's totally incredible) I hope that I will be able to get it one day ! ;p

Holy cow that scale o.0 and just by seeing the pictures I can tell of its awesome lol. The detail is off the charts. And I guess as far as "grail kits" go, I think this one would be it. [link] And the largest scale I've gone is the 1/48th scale RX-78. The detail is kinda basic for what I wanted. You can find pictures posted in my gallery. I guess for something a lot more detailed I'm gonna have to get into the higher prices huh?

Yep this RX-93 is amazing too ! :D
I have seen the picts of your RX-78 in your gallery (superbly done ! :) )and this one may be more detailed for sure ! But yes Resin kits are more expansive ^^; You may not be able to find more detailed and bigger with plastic kits...
E2046 sells official G-System kits but it looks to be available now at G-System Shop ! => [link]

Thanks for the favorites! Yeah as far as a first time 1/48th scale gundam goes im pretty happy with it. And it may be a long time before I get one of those kits cause of being a broke college student T_T One question I do have is if I can use enamel paints on resin kits. And if not where do you go for the paints?

You're very welcome ! :D
yep I know what you mean, I'm no student anymore but I'm still broke ! ^^; (House to pay, kids, cars repairs etc... !)
You can use any paint on resin, the same you use on plastic kits. (Enamels, lacquers or acrylics)
The resin have to be primmed, any primmer work if the resin is properly degreased. The primer will not especially make thee the paint stick better , but it helps a lot to sand and repair the surface defects... ;) Personally I use acrylics that are in tubes and that I thin it with water, alcool or Tamiya X-20A and spray it with airbrush...

It was a lot of fun to work on this bust ! :D

The 1/35 Ex-S is like a grail or "dream kit" ! I hope that I will be able to get it one day !

I purchased some other G-System models ( [link] , [link]) but unfortunately not enough time to work on them for the moment, that's why I stopped commissions ! ^^;
Here are some collages that I made for a forum 2 years ago (so not updated) of the un-builded resin models that I have "in stock" : Figures : [link] [link] - Mechas : [link] so a lot of fun time to spend ! ;p

Yeah this kit is fantastic, for the moment, I just cleaned the parts, but considering the total amount of parts (about 250 and I don't count the aluminium + extra parts), that will take already a lot of time for the part test fitting ! It is totally posable with the G-Frame but some articulations are looking a bit fragile...
Be sure that I will post it here as soon as it will be completed ! :D
