Hi everyone ^_^ !

Here is my latest kit !

She is mainly painted with airbrush and handbrush for the details.
The preparation work took me a while because I longly worked on the armor parts that had to be very smooth to able to get a shiny render.
I even polished the parts before painting. I could use too some metallic powder like Kosutte Gin-San (that is out of stock on HLJ) for the armor.
I was not fan of the original base so I decided to work on another ! ;)

This kit was pretty long and hard to complete but it was a real pleasure to work on.

Feel free to comment ! :w00t:

Ah merci à toi ! :thanks:

A couple questions. What's the point of the hair being made of clear resin when it's going to be painted over? Does the clear resin have an effect to the final paint? Also can you paint over magic powder?

I think that hair sometime are casted in clear resin to imitate real hairs that are not totally opaque.
I own also the 1/4 Bayonetta => [link] and the 1/4 KOS-MOS (ver.4) => [link] from volks. The links are reference picts only (I didn't have painted mine yet) but you may see that the effect on the hair is pretty nice. :D
Of course you can paint it with classic opaque paint, but I think that it has a better look with clear paints ! ;) You can also shade clear paint with semi-opaque or very thinned-down paint for an intermediate effect. There are a lot of possible technicals to experiment ! :D

The magic powder is a nice product, I have remarked 2 important things. First it's is not totally opaque so that's why for the Saber, I used a silver paint + glossy varnish before applying it. Second, it looks to not be pretty fragile. I never tried to paint on it. Maybe it have to be sealed with a varnish before but it seems that with the varnish, the "metallic" effect will not be as effective !...^^; I have to test it.

I hope that will help ! :D

Ah I see, I'd better take that transparent hair thing on future sculpts :D

Yeah I was thinking if it would be possible to coat the magic powder with something to keep it protected. I recently purchased some so I'll be experimenting with it as well :)
