1/6 Kanzaki Sumire (Kimono Version) (Kaiyodo)
Hi everyone !
This Sumire kit from Sakura Taisen was almost a grail kit for me and I was so glad to be able to get her on Yahoo Japan Auction last year. This character is very popular for the Sakura Taisen fans and unfortunaltely her seiyu (Michie Tomizawa known also for have dubbed Sailor Mars too) retired... sniff.
I have always loved the movement of the kimono. The scale is pretty good and the cast was OK but with many seam lines and bubbles like a lot of original kits from this period (1998).
I tried to be as close as possible with the original color scheme that I love but I used some iridescent paint on the kimono to give a "silk" aspect. The same for the hairs and ribbons.
The flowers/leaves were a nice detailed that I totally hand brushed, then I had to mask with liquid mask to spray the purple kimono and shadings. I have done an orange pre-shading on the yellow knot, I find it always more easy to set it like this thanks to the transparency of the yellow.
I hope that you will like her and thanks for watching. She was a lot of fun to work on.
